Aitchison Raffety was instructed by the Dean and Chapter of Salisbury Cathedral to value two historic schools within the Cathedral Close; Leaden Hall School and Salisbury Cathedral School.
The two independent schools have recently undergone an important time in their long histories and merged early in 2016. The Dean and Chapter required a valuation of both schools as part of the merger to assist with their estate planning, alongside valuations of their extensive grounds which include a range of listed buildings and playing fields.
Our specialist surveyors carried out an extensive inspection of the schools, conducting research prior to the appointment and afterwards to determine the value of the estates, which totalled £6 million. The report conformed to the requirements of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and provided reassurance with precise evidence and comparable data to the client to support the reported valuation figure.
This instruction led to other work within the Salisbury Cathedral Close for Sarum College.
