Our Business Rates team has secured successful Rateable Value reductions for two Material Change of Circumstance appeals on behalf of clients at a property on Leadenhall Street, London. An initial appeal by our team secured a 6.5% allowance for clients within the building in relation to ongoing building works towards the rear of the office.  This allowance was successfully backdated to the start of the rating list.

A second appeal in relation to ongoing building works directly adjacent to the office building was then submitted. After discussions with the valuation office, we successfully agreed an increased allowance of 15% which was backdated to November 2017, for all five clients we represented within the building.

The 15% agreement achieved by Aitchison Raffety surpassed previous agreements within the building for the same works, for occupiers Aitchison Raffety did not represent.
