Our Northampton planning office has secured full planning permission for thirty affordable houses on the rural edge of Raunds in North Northamptonshire.
The development proposal will contribute to a recognised need for affordable homes in the area, supported by grant funding. On balance, the Council accepted that whilst full developer contributions could not be provided without affecting the viability of the proposal, the benefits of a fully affordable housing scheme outweighed the level of harm.
The approval follows Aitchison Raffety having won an appeal for 21 dwellings at the start of this year. Full costs were awarded against the Council for unreasonable behaviour with the Inspector finding in that instance the reason for refusal was unfounded and unsubstantiated.
