North Northamptonshire Council is developing a Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment for the area and is undertaking a ‘Call for Sites’ to help them identify a supply of land which is suitable, available and achievable for future housing and economic development uses and provide an evidence base to inform the plan making process.

This Call for Sites exercise is not a formal consultation, but it is an important information gathering exercise which supports the Council to identify a pool of sites which have development potential for a range of land uses. Submissions to the Call for Sites is currently open and runs until Monday April 25th 2022.

Past submissions made to North Northamptonshire’s former local authorities (Corby, East Northamptonshire, Kettering and Wellingborough) and the North Northants Joint Planning and Delivery Unit, will submitted again through this current Call for Sites exercise. This includes those previously included in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment and local employment land studies. These sites will not be carried forward and will be resubmitted to the Authority.

Through this Call for Sites exercise, the Council will consider sites for housing development which are capable of delivering five or more dwellings, as well as sites for economic development uses of 0.25ha / 500sqm of floorspace and above. Any sites already allocated, the Council requires information where it may be necessary to assess whether circumstances have changed which may affect their suitability (including market signals and considering use of the land for alternative uses).
