In addition to working on behalf of private clients, we also act on behalf of Local Authorities and Parish Councils on a consultancy basis. On behalf of Parish Councils, this has involved providing opinions in respect of planning applications and their planning merits to inform objections to a proposal and the preparation of objection letters.
We also represent Borough, District and Parish Councils on planning appeals, which includes a wide remit of work such as consideration of five year housing land supply assessments, locational sustainability and the planning balance of benefits and harm resulting from a proposal. We have experience of Neighbourhood Plans and have acted in a consultancy manner to determine planning applications on behalf of Local Planning Authorities.
All of our professionals understand the importance of ensuring the case presented to defend or object to a proposal needs to be fully understood in order to allow clear and concise representations/statements to be prepared. A range of expertise within Aitchison Raffety allows all possible planning remits to be covered, whilst other specialist consultants will be appointed as necessary to deal with specific matters, if necessary, such as transport or ecology. Provision of the correct personnel and a clear case then allows the best chance of success for securing the outcome desired for our public sector clients.
