Rateable Value is an estimate of the rental value of premises, fixed by reference to evidence of rents agreed 2 years before the Revaluation date. For the 2017 Revaluation the valuation date is 1 April 2015. Our team of specialist surveyors will check the valuation against our transaction databases and where it is excessive we will challenge it through the appeal process. The appeal regulations are changing for the 2017 Revaluation with a greater burden of proof placed on ratepayers and their representatives.
Our surveyors will advise and represent you throughout the process, from initial review of the valuation to entering challenges and, where necessary, following through to presentation of evidence and argument before the Valuation Tribunal.
We ensure that comprehensive due diligence is undertaken and relevant advice is provided before committing to any appeal action. We also audit historic rate payments and identify where errors may have been made by your billing authority and seek a backdated refund.
