With a very unsettled end to 2019 Matthew Bowen Director at Aitchison Raffety reports that the commercial property market has started very positively in 2020.
“December 2019 was a very quiet period and understandably so with the General Election in mid-December and then the Christmas holidays straight afterwards. With the election looming companies of all sizes put any property matters on hold, other than those who had no choice. Businesses do not like uncertainty and that is what you could describe as being the sentiment in 2019! Since the start of January enquiry levels are reaching the highest numbers since March 2019 and are almost double January 2019. There is pent up demand from people who have delayed decisions, but we also are speaking to companies that have a positive business outlook and are taking offices and industrial properties that give them room for expansion. If the start of 2020 is an indication for the rest of the year then it could be a very good year for business in Hertfordshire.”
