Aitchison Raffety’s latest ‘30 SECOND SURVEY’ – this time exploring the likely reaction to the vaccine – shows that 98% of companies plan to return to the workplace either fully or partly – 79% to return fully. Only 2% suggested that they would not return at all.
The survey was aimed at business owners and occupiers across the South East of England to explore how their property requirements had altered following the news that the vaccine was being rolled out.
While 53% of businesses do not feel a need to modify their property needs, 28% were looking for smaller premises to factor in fewer staff and also an increase in flexible/home working. 19% of companies will be looking to increase their footprint – up from 17% in our last survey.
Mark Bunting, Director at Aitchison Raffety, commented “The results are broadly in line with what we are hearing from occupiers in the market. Flexible working will be the new norm to a greater or lesser degree for some companies but very few can properly operate remotely – a particular challenge for growing companies employing new staff. We were encouraged to see that those anticipating the need for additional space had increased since our last survey in the late Summer.”
