Brian Barber Associates are the Town Planning Team within the Aitchison Raffety Group. We act for a wide variety of clients across the country on a full range of planning matters. Our clients include private individuals, landowners, developers and local authorities involved in residential, commercial, retail, leisure and recreation schemes. At a time when the planning system is increasing in complexity, the need to obtain professional guidance is more important than ever. BBA is able to provide effective guidance through the system, identifying opportunities and constraints for client's sites and progressing projects through the 'planning maze'.

Planning Appraisals

We are able to prepare site appraisals for landowners or developers to enable them to make informed decisions about potential development sites. We can set out a clear strategy to secure consent for a development proposal.

Development Plan Representations

We can promote the inclusion of a site in an emerging Local Development Framework. We can advise on the opportunities to make representations and can identify all the issues at the outset and propose an approach to deal with them.

Planning Applications

We can prepare, submit and negotiate all types of planning applications. We have extensive experience in securing planning permission for residential, commercial and mixed use developments of all sizes.

Appeals

We seek to use our professional expertise to negotiate planning applications through to a successful local outcome. However, when an appeal is required we are able to provide advice on the strategy and will use our skills and experience to present as strong a case as possible in support. We have an eviable track record of success at appeal.

Enforcement Notices

Where the threat of enforcement action exists, we are often able to negotiate with a Local Planning Authority to resolve matters amicably. However, where enforcement notices have been served we are able to respond quickly and have successfully defended formal enforcement action at appeal.
