Formerly referred to as a 'Structural Survey', a building survey is a customised service suitable for all residential properties and gives full details of their construction and condition. It is likely that you will require this type of survey if the property is: unusually built, in a state of disrepair, has been significantly altered, or if you are planning a major conversion or renovation.
Although the building survey is suitable for any type of property it is especially recommended for older buildings. It is the most comprehensive and most expensive type of survey, however it is not necessarily suitable to carry out a building survey on all properties, we do not carry out building surveys where we deem that the RICS HomeBuyers Service would be more appropriate.
Please contact us to discuss the property you intend to purchase and your requirements, to obtain a personalised quotation.
- Our team of experienced Chartered Building Surveyors offer pre-survey advice free of charge and we aim to guide you in the right direction.
- We tailor all our Building Surveys to each client’s individual requirements.
- We hold discussions with all our clients before carrying out a building survey on their behalf so that we can cover any particular requirements they may have. For example, you may be intending to remove a wall and wish to know if this is feasible, or you may have concerns about something you may have noticed yourself when viewing the property.
- Our reports include detailed technical information on materials and construction, as well as outlining defects present at the premises.
