Property consultants and chartered surveyors, Aitchison Raffety are working with Robinson & Hall, chartered surveyors of Bedford, to facilitate sales by auction of both commercial and residential properties for clients.

Robinson & Hall is a well established firm in Bedfordshire running a multi-disciplinary property based practice. Its auctioneering arm has witnessed substantial growth since it began conducting property auctions in Milton Keynes as more property owners realise the benefits of selling by auction.

“Robinson & Hall’s auction expertise combined with our local knowledge and contacts will provide opportunities for both companies to expand this division and promote the sales to a wider audience” says Alan Downer of Aitchison Raffety’s Milton Keynes office. “It will also complement our new Asset Recovery division as banks and building societies seek to sell redundant properties and realise the asset.

On average, properties sold through residential and commercial estate agencies need in excess of six months to complete with some 30 per cent failing to do so. Such a statistic goes some way to explaining why the relative certainty and speed of the property auction room has become so attractive.

“In today’s falling market, a same day conclusion on price is valuable and gathering all interested parties together identifies a true market value” concludes Downer.
